Tunnel Lighting

Safety is the most important factor for tunnel lighting.

Different from driving on the open road, the tunnel will be divided into 3 different zone, entrance, transit and exit. A good lighting for tunnel will help the driver to avoid the black hole effect at the entrance and the white light phenomenon at the exit. In order to achieve this, a good tunnel lighting must provide extraordinary visibility and uniformity.

In addition, tunnel light usually works under a harsh environment and the hydrogen sulfide contained in the automobile exhausts will do harm to the LED, therefore, when we design the light specially for the tunnel, the heat sink must be with a super anti corrosion performance and the LED we usually choose Nicha brand because of its best antisulphur performance.

Reliability is also another very important point should be considered. Tunnel closure means a very high maintenance cost and will cause a serious potential traffic safety problems.

We have accumulated rich experience in LED tunnel light project, especially in some European countries like Austria, our customer say their project is special because the end user is not willing to change the heat sink of the previous tunnel light installed several years ago. The reason is their previous heat sink has a very good anti corrosion performance and at the same time, they can save a lot of money if just retrofit the inside light part. We have thus designed specially the retrofit kits, too.
