Our client needed to increase the illumination of existing HID tunnel lighting fixtures while significantly reducing energy consumption. For cost and sustainability reasons, they wanted to retrofit the fixtures rather than fully replace them. This required a custom LED retrofit solution that could work within the old housings.
After assessing their needs, we customized our TN04 LED tunnel light retrofit kits along with power supplies. TN04 seamlessly integrated into the outdated HID housings. The client first installed 40 samples in March 2023 to evaluate performance. The TN04 lit up the tunnel brilliantly while reducing energy use. Satisfied, the client moved forward just two months later with a full installation of TN04 to upgrade all existing fixtures.
This tunnel lighting upgrade project is located on the border between Denmark and Sweden. After switching to the AGC LED fixture, we got bright light.
This is a public tender for a tunnel lighting upgrade. The plan was to use the existing fixture housings and replace the old Halogen light source and ballast inside. The goal is to create more lighting than previously to have much lower energy consumption.
So, we need to design a suitable light source kit and LED driver. Before the project starts, we ask the customer to send the whole light, because we need to evaluate whether these components can continue to be used and what the expected lifespan is. Meanwhile, just testing the light source and driver alone does not assess the performance of the entire light; We had to consider every factor that could affect the project. Because most tunnel lighting fixtures face the challenge of a harsh environment all the time, they're exposed to chemical fumes from vehicles and road salt, which would lead to the problem of corrosion on the surface of fixtures, Our light source, led driver will lose the best protection. You know, Tunnel maintenance is very complicated, it will cause severe traffic jams, and maybe increase the potential for accidents.
The whole process went well. We customized TN04 retrofit kits with a power supply within 20 days and did all the necessary tests. We also did a lighting simulation, all the data matched the bidding document. In the first stage, the customer installed 40 pcs samples for testing. Two months later, they confirmed the order and installed all of 640 pcs.
This was a simple customization for AGC, but we still double-checked everything to ensure our product had durable quality during the process.
