Luminaires for use in sports facilities and multipurpose halls should be impact-resistant. It requires the lighting fixture to pass the ball test.
The ball test approval is in accordance with the German DIN 57710-13 regulation. This standard is concerned with the impact resistance of luminaires for indoor sports facilities. It requires that a luminaire struck by a ball must withstand any damage that could cause luminaire parts to fall to the ground.
To pass the standard test, a luminaire needs to withstand 36 shots from three directions. The maximum impact velocity is 60 km/hour and the ball is a calibrated handball. The product must be functioning after the test without any loose or broken parts falling down and without a change in IP rating.
With the robust design, our SP07 can be ball test approved.
Except for the ball test approval, what else shall we consider when doing the indoor sports hall lighting project?
Yes, it’s low UGR. Low UGR can create a more comfortable and safer environment when people play ball.
The optical performance of SP07 LuxArena can achieve UGR<21 according to CIE190:2010.
