Comparing 3 Ways to Install FL28 LED Flood Light Driver Box

In a summary, here are 3 kinds of installations about FL28:

1. Driver box close to the flood light;
2. Driver fixed in the middle of the pole;
3. Driver put in the distribution box.

We always recommend solution 2nd and 3rd LED lamp and driver separate installation. The reason is that how to convenient for maintenance facilities in 5 years or even over a longer lifespan should be considered. In case the driver is defective someday, how do they change the driver? If it’s hung on 30m, they have to afford a great bill for crane and labor costs.

Another thing about separate installation that must be brought to your attention is the extra cost of cables. For example, how many meters of cable do you need for a FL28 flood light 1200W? 10m/20m/30m/40m/50m? It should be up to the distance from the LED lamp to the distribution box. Because we have to consider the power decrease caused by the distance, cable diameter as well as cable length will affect the cost.

Back words, it is not a good way that the first solution driver box is close to the flood light, so we don’t consider it? The answer is yes. But this is the problem you must face and be solved by yourself. One hand is your budget, another hand is maintenance costs after the sale.

Old solution (below left picture), the driver box is relatively large and heavy, and the product price and shipping cost are high. Now we’ve redesigned simple one (below the right picture).

The driver box doesn’t accumulate water and has passed a 500-hour salt spray test.
