Din 57710-13 Ball Test Approval - What This Means for You

Carol Zhou

This standard is concerned with the impact resistance of luminaires for indoor sports facilities. It requires that a luminaire struck by a ball must withstand any damage that could cause luminaire parts to fall to the ground.

To pass the standard test, a luminaire needs to withstand 36 shots from three directions. The maximum impact velocity is 60 km/hour and the ball is a calibrated handball. The product must be functioning after the test without any loose or broken parts falling down and without change in IP rating.

DIN 57710-13 Sports Hall Ball Test Approval is not required by law, but it does provide peace of mind for consumers that the Luminaires they are using are safe and of high quality. That means you can win projects earlier and have a better chance at success.

Two of our products have ball test approval in accordance with the German DIN 57710-13 regulation.

LHB09 Refinado

DIN 57710 13 ball test approval LHB09 linear high bay

HB42 Venus

DIN 57710 13 ball test approval HB42 high bay light

Luminaires for use in sports facilities and multipurpose halls should be impact-resistant. Furthermore, glare control (LOW UGR) is also important in order to reduce any potential distractions or discomfort for the athletes or spectators.

If you are a fan of products with high levels of quality, then you would be excited to know the UGR<19 of these 2 products, it is a measure of their excellent performance in sports facilities.

This means luminaires used in sports facilities can provide optimal lighting for any situation by having both of these features, DIN 57710-13 Sports Hall Ball Test Approval & LOW UGR
