Luminaires for use in sports facilities and multi-purpose sport halls should be impact resistant. At AGC Lighting, several of our products have ball test approval in accordance with the German DIN 57710-13 regulation. Today, we would like to introduce our human-centric high bay HB01-HiCloud for sport halls applications.
The DIN 57710-13 standard focuses on the impact resistance of luminaires designed for indoor sports facilities. It mandates that a luminaire struck by a ball must withstand any damage that could cause parts to fall to the ground.
To meet the standard, a luminaire needs to endure 36 shots from three directions. The maximum impact velocity is 60 km/hour, and the ball used is a calibrated handball. After the test, the product must still be functional, with no loose or broken parts falling down, and there should be no change in the IP rating.
With fast-moving balls in indoor sports halls and gymnasiums, damage to electrical equipment is highly likely, and falling parts pose a danger to people. By using ball-proof lights, safety is guaranteed.
The distinctive HB01-HiCloud is specifically designed for indoor sports areas. It is certified with the ball test and can be installed on the ceiling or hung from above.
In addition to meeting the DIN 57710-13 ball test requirements, our classic HB01-HiCloud features an engineered grille textured lens that optimizes light distribution. The fixture has a 65-degree angle and is glare-free. After testing, the UGR rate is exceptionally less than 19. With low UGR lighting, it is crucial to ensure excellent visibility for athletes and spectators to fully enjoy the game.
