Normally we know it's mainly relative to the beam angle and the lighting surface. It's to know the beam angle. But how to define the surface size becomes a question. Such as the high bay with PC reflector, how do you define the surface? Is the light source size? The diameter of the reflector or the surface size of the reflector?
In Europe, some lighting factories use light-emitting surfaces to define the size of the lighting surfaces. This means, with a single high bay luminaire they use the diameter of the front glass, see picture 1. And with a PC reflector, they use the complete size of the reflector, diameter and height at C0/C90/C180/C270, see picture 2.
The HiWide high bay can fit with the tempered glass, but also it is the best solution to match with the clear PC reflector to get UGR<19. Below is an installation case of HiWide lighting up a 4S store.
