As far as outdoor parking lot is concerned,  lighting up parking lot area when it need be illuminated is an ideal and energy-saving lighting solution . 

to work out the problem when parking lot area need be illuminated , you might consider using photocell sensor to control on/off of lights here .  photocell sensor can sense the existing lighting level around. when incorporated with parking lot lights , it can intelligently switch on /off the parking lot lights automatically with the intensity change of ambient light . for example ,when the sun goes down at dusk, the lighting level decreases to a lower value than the setting point. this change is detected by photocell sensor and then trigger parking lot lighting fixtures , light turns on of it self. all movements take place in a very short time. on the contrary , When the sun comes back up at dawn,  the lighting level return  and exceed a critical point , the parking lot light switches off.

photocell sensor， providing precisely illumination and lighting up the target area when it need to be lit , can significantly reduce and avoid a waste of energy .
