The stadium lighting market is growing fast in these years. One of common factors enhancing the growth of the market is replacing traditional light with LED light. In addition ,there are many new stadiums being constructed which also contribute to speed the pace of the growth. When talking about sports no matter what participants or spectators all desire to have a good visual effect when in the stadium or on sports field. This requires suitable lighting fixtures to light up sports facility with bright and comfortable environment. What should you think of and what should you know before started your project? Is it confused you? Follow these steps may you have a clearer idea that how to begin.

Step 1: Two kinds of common tennis court

Outside tennis court (Class III)

Indoor tennis court  (Class III)

indoor tennis court sports lighting and outdoor tennis court sports lighting

Step 2: The reason we need tennis court lights

To meet people’s desires that playing tennis at anytime they expect and not be effected by day or night, indoor or outside and what is the weather like that day. Without lights you can image that you need to rely on the daylight. Otherwise you are impossible to play tennis at night. Even if in the daytime when the illumination of indoor tennis court is insufficient, It would be have a bad influence on the visual effect and may affect players’ mood. That also is another reason why we need extra light source to replenish lighting.

Step3: The factors we need to considerate

  • Dimension of the court

It is necessary that having a clear mind of the scale of on-hand project.

  • Illumination level

Good visibility enabling both players and spectators to follow the progress of a game.

  • Uniformity

Good illumination levels and even distribution of light across the playing field surface.

  • Relevant government regulations

As what you see at other essay, of course, may not as well, there are regulations about sports lighting level that lay down by government and any other authorities. It would be a effective way as a gist for us to refer that how to undertake own project.

  • Cost

Include lights cost, shipping cost, installation cost, running cost and maintenance cost etc.

  • Spill light

The potential impact on the environment of light spill from outdoor lighting installations should be considered during design of installations.

Step 4: Refer to the guideline by government or any other relevant authorities

Reference to the Europe sports lighting standard EN12193:2008

Step 5: Choose suitable lighting fixtures to get appropriate illuminance on the sports field according to the relevant standard and any other data of project

  • meet the required standard of relevant government or any other authorities.
  • participants do not suffer from disability glare when playing.
  • spectators can own a clear visual viewing and not affected by illumination
  • calculate the demand quantity based on the scale of your project, include the size of sports field, the lay out of the pole and the height of the lighting fixtures
  • generally the mounting height of a single court is between 8 and 12 m
  • focus on the surrounding environment and choose the appropriate installation method. In general, pole mounting and wall mounting is familiar in the outdoor tennis court project. Hook mounting and bracket mounting is common in the interior project.
  • Fully consider the potential lighting pollution
