In a paper mill plant, there is a lot of dust in the environment. If we use a normal UFO high bay with fins, the dust would accumulate on the high bay, and LEDs would be burned because of the high temperature. See pictures below.
Could we use the NSF HB06 UFO high bay with a smooth surface, like below? It is better not to. Although the surface is smooth, it is designed to be washed to prevent bacteria accumulation, but it cannot prevent dust accumulation.
In some paper mill plants, the excessive dust might cause fixtures to have an inner circuit spark and make a fire. Explosive compositions might be used in the process of making paper. It is better to use explosion-proof fixtures.
Below is our solution for a paper mill plant or dusty application. We use an HA05 round-shaped explosion-proof fixture inside and a bell-shaped reflector to prevent dust accumulation. There is a gap between the metal plate and the reflector for air conviction. It would be the perfect solution for the paper mill plant.
