The light distribution of street lighting fixtures cannot fully illuminate the road surface. Such a light distribution is not even desirable for health or practical reasons. In highly urbanized areas, where roads are dense, buildings are close together, and strong street lights can disrupt the life and tranquility of residents. To illuminate cities and streets, another solution is used, the so-called negative contrast. It involves exposing the silhouette of a car or pedestrian, rather than illuminating the space entirely.
